There are many suppliers now on line or in the high street of reptile goods. Lamps such as Exo Terra or Sun Glo/Arcadia Basking lamps are now widely available and recommended for use with tortoises. Shop around for these but ensure you buy a good one, a cheap alternative will cost much more in the long run! Please remember vivariums are not suitable for tortoises and although many of these shops will say they are, I will not supply a baby tortoise to anyone planning to use one, in line with the 2006 Animal Welfare Act.

Another group that is gathering in momentum provides excellent advice about tortoise diet. Helen and Lin are really helpful and there is a lot of knowledge on the forum. They also have a "plant of the month" which helps you to see which weeds and plants are available at this time of year.
